Fall!  Arguably the best season (Although not if Summer asks.)  Here in the North East  you can practically smell the leaves changing.  We beat the leaves to change though, and got all of our new fall yarns out to make our shelves newly cozy and colorful.  Time to get started on your new favorite winter sweater, if you knit at my pace.  Actually, if you knit at my pace you better already have started…

Another great SUPER FAST blanket is this throw out of Feza "Bing" yarn.

Lucky for you, if you haven’t already started on a winter project, we have just the kind of project perfect to satisfy any immediate gratification pangs you may be feeling on the brink of this cold cold week.  “Bing” is the yarn my mom used to make this super fast, super warm throw, perfect for cuddling up on the couch or warming your feet.  It is knit on size 35 needles, either them or turkey basters in a pinch.  The throw takes three skeins; when you order them from our website, just write in the comment’s box that you want us to include my mom’s “Bing Bang Done” blanket pattern for quick blanket fix!

So, I know I said that the next thing I really have to finish is my dog’s sweater.  But I couldn’t resist starting a few scarves to get into the season.  Lucky for my dog she has fur…  I’m also just starting a blanket, after I woke up shivering yesterday morning (My dog was sleeping soundly, thanks to her own personal fur blanket).  I am using Mission Falls 1824 Wool to make a full size blanket for my bed, from their baby blanket pattern from booklet Wee Knits 3.  The pattern calls for 1824 Cotton, but the gauge is the same and I really want to be warm this winter…

And warm we will be, with the amount of yarn that has been arriving around the clock, in preparation for the upcoming Stitches East convention.  This will be our very first Stitches, and we couldn’t be more excited.  From Mountain Colors to Lobster Pot to Great Adirondack yarns, including EVERY COLOR of Manos Classica and every darn thing Mission Falls makes, we are up to our ears in yarn.  Trust me, I am doing my push ups in preparation for all of the hauling I am about to be doing.  We can’t wait to see you there!
